Natural Rind Cheeses

Cheeses with a natural rind are allowed to age in the open, such as cave aged cheeses, allowing the elements in the natural environment to affect the taste, smell, texture, and appearance of the cheese’s outer rind. Natural rind cheeses are typically on the firmer side.

Well-known natural rind cheeses include Gruyère and Grana Padano.
